Professor An Delivered a Lecture on Controlled Radical Polymerization

On March 26, Professor Zesheng An from Jilin University visited Beijing Normal University and delivered an inspiring lecture titled “New Strategies in Controlled Radical Polymerization.” In his talk, Prof. An introduced a series of innovative approaches developed by his group, including enzyme-initiated polymerization, supramolecular regulation, and triplet-state enhanced photopolymerization. These strategies effectively address key challenges in conventional controlled radical polymerization, such as the trade-off between reaction rate and control, oxygen sensitivity, and limitations in achieving high molecular weights. The lecture attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty and students, leading to lively discussions. Prof. An’s insights provided valuable inspiration for advancing polymer synthesis and functional material design.
